Updated October 3, 2026

Verizon Connect Work is shutting down. Here is what that means for your business.

Verizon Connect is retiring its Work field service app (also known as Fleetmatics Work). Active service ends on December 31, 2026, and on March 31, 2027 the platform goes offline and every remaining record is permanently deleted.

If your office schedules jobs, dispatches techs or sends invoices from Work, you have a hard deadline to move. This page lays out the dates, what is and is not affected, how the data export works, and how KaamCam moves you over for free, with your job photos attached to the right jobs.

The Verizon Connect Work shutdown timeline

  • July 1, 2026: Verizon Connect announced the sunset and launched a self-service data export tool (ZIP files).
  • December 31, 2026: end of active service. Scheduling, dispatching, invoicing and mobile worker sync stop. Your business must be running on a new system by this date.
  • January 1 to March 31, 2027: historical data stays in a read-only state so you can finish exporting.
  • March 31, 2027: the platform goes offline and all remaining job history, customer records, signatures and photos are permanently deleted.

Which products are shutting down (and which are not)

The sunset covers the standalone Work field service application, which has also been sold as Fleetmatics Work and Connect to Field. That is the app many service companies use for scheduling, dispatch, job records, photos and invoicing.

According to Verizon Connect, Reveal vehicle tracking is not affected, and neither are Reveal Field, Workforce or WorkPlan. If you only use Reveal for GPS, nothing changes for your trucks. If your office runs jobs, schedules and invoices in Work, you need a new field service system before December 31, 2026.

Why Verizon Connect is retiring Work

Verizon Connect says the Work technology is more than 10 years old and can no longer support the security and mobile features customers need, and that the Microsoft Azure hosting behind it retires in early 2027. It is not building a new field service tool; it is focusing on its Reveal GPS platform.

Paying more does not extend it. Verizon Connect describes the server retirement as a technical hard stop that makes it impossible to keep Work running past March 2027.

Exporting your data takes longer than most people expect

Verizon Connect will not move your records to another provider for you, and Work has no public API. You download your own data with their export tool and hand it to your new provider. Their own help center notes:

  • Exports can take several days to more than a week to build, especially with photos attached. Closing the browser does not stop them, but cancelling or re-requesting puts you back in the queue.
  • Request job history in chunks of no more than 2 years, with no overlapping date ranges.
  • Job records not modified since before September 2019 have already been removed under a 7-year retention policy and cannot be exported.
  • Clients, suppliers and inventory export as CSV files (client lists need an Account Administrator). Job history, photos, PDFs and signatures come as ZIP files, packaged by month.
  • Attachment file names match the Job ID in the job CSV, which is how photos are matched back to the right customer and job.

What to do this month

  1. Start your exports now. Queue your client, supplier and inventory CSVs and your job history ZIPs in 2-year chunks. They can take a week or more to build, so do not leave it to December.
  2. Keep everything in one folder. Save the CSVs and every monthly ZIP together. You will hand the whole folder to your new provider.
  3. Pick your new system before peak season. Switching in January or February, while Work is read-only, means running your busiest months on new software with no fallback. Moving earlier gives your crew time to learn it.
  4. Run both side by side for a week. Keep Work open while your team schedules and invoices in the new system, then switch off Work for good.

Frequently asked questions

When does Verizon Connect Work shut down?

Active service ends December 31, 2026. Historical data stays read-only until March 31, 2027, when the platform goes offline and all remaining data is permanently deleted.

Is Fleetmatics Work the same as Verizon Connect Work?

Yes. Verizon Connect notes the sunset covers the standalone Work application, historically known as Connect to Field, Fleetmatics Work or Verizon Connect Work.

Does the shutdown affect Reveal GPS tracking?

No. Verizon Connect says Reveal vehicle tracking, Reveal Field, Workforce and WorkPlan are not affected. Only the standalone Work field service app is being retired.

Can I keep using Work if I pay more?

No. Verizon Connect describes the server retirement as a technical hard stop; Work cannot run past March 2027.

Will Verizon Connect transfer my data to a new provider?

No. You export your own records (CSV files plus monthly ZIP files of job history and attachments) and give them to your new provider. KaamCam imports them for you for free.

Can I export more than 7 years of history?

Job records not modified since before September 2019 were already removed under a 7-year retention policy, according to Verizon Connect. Everything newer can be exported in 2-year chunks.

How long does a move to KaamCam take?

Most teams are scheduling in KaamCam within a day. Importing years of history and photos runs in the background while your crew starts working.
